Cochise County criminal court cases are split by jurisdiction. The Superior Court is the felony-level trial court. Six Justice Courts in Bisbee, Douglas, Benson, Willcox, Sierra Vista, and Bowie hear misdemeanors, criminal traffic, felony initial appearances, and preliminary hearings. Their files are not held by the Superior Court clerk. City courts keep limited municipal dockets. Sierra Vista Magistrate Court, for example, is a non-record court that handles criminal traffic, misdemeanors, city ordinances, protective orders, and other local matters. Court level matters more than the place of arrest.

Bisbee Justice Court is at 207 N. Judd Drive, while Sierra Vista Justice Court is at 100 Colonia de Salud. Douglas sits at 1012 N. G Avenue, Benson at 126 W. 5th Street, Willcox at 450 S. Haskell Avenue, and Bowie at 201 N. Central Avenue. Public Access also excludes local ordinance charges. That matters in Cochise County because municipal matters may remain with a city court even when a statewide party-name search is blank. Sierra Vista Magistrate Court handles criminal and civil traffic, misdemeanors, city ordinances, juvenile traffic and alcohol matters, orders of protection, and harassment injunctions. The clerk does not take telephone or faxed record requests. Payment is made through Point & Pay or by cashier's check or money order, and personal checks are not accepted.
Online requests and mail requests serve the same Superior Court custodian but use different payment paths. The clerk can give a cost estimate after locating the material. A request for an old Cochise County criminal file should include an approximate year and both party names even when the case number is not known. That detail is especially useful for paper-era records that may not appear with full document access online.
How a Criminal Case Moves
A Cochise County felony may begin with an arrest or citation and an initial appearance in Justice Court. The prosecutor then proceeds by complaint, information, or indictment. These counters do not absorb Justice Court records. The court name on the docket controls where a copy request goes.
Cochise Criminal Case Payment Channels

Arizona Public Records Law opens many government records for inspection, while court access is governed through judicial rules including Arizona Supreme Court Rule 123. Public Access excludes sealed cases, orders of protection, mental health and probate matters, victim or witness data, juvenile delinquency and incorrigible matters, and local ordinance charges. An empty result is not proof that no event occurred.
Qualifying arrest, conviction, and sentencing records may be sealed under A.R.S. § 13-911. When a case is absent, check the spelling and court first, then ask the likely clerk whether the matter is held locally, archived, sealed, or excluded from the statewide index.
