Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Cochise County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive basic technical details about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where a visit ends. Analytics services assist with that measurement. Browser controls can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Cochise County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies request routes at the Cochise County Sheriff, local courts, the Arizona Department of Public Safety Central State Repository, and the Arizona Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Data submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Arizona agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy controls. Check that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure site use and performance
- Search partners that receive a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, so the possibility of unauthorized access cannot be eliminated.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when a valid request is received.
Your Data Rights
Arizona law, including the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, A.R.S. § 44-1521 et seq., may provide rights or remedies based on the facts and a user's location. The Arizona Public Records Law and A.R.S. § 41-1750 govern official government records, not visitor data held by this private site. A user may:
- Request deletion of personal data where applicable
- Ask what personal information is held about them
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A replacement becomes effective when posted here with its new date.
